First Frescographies presented to the Public
On March 15th 2000 Rainer Maria Latzke attended the christening ceremony of the world´s largest sailing boat in the port of Monaco, Rainer Maria Latzke was commissioned to decorate the public spaces of the boat with Frescographies. It was the first time that wall painting produced in Latzke´s Frescography technique have been presented to the public.
The Royal Clipper is listed in Guinness World Records as the largest square-rigged ship in service, with 5202 square meters of sail. Her sails can be handled with a crew as small as twenty using powered controls. Rainer Maria Latzke created the murals for the public spaces of the ship by using his new Frescography production technique. The christening was done by Queen Silvia of Sweden. On a tour through the ship she was impressed by Latzke´s blue Mediterranean sea scapes and expressed her delight in a personal conversation with the artist.
