Already while working as a freelance artist Rainer Maria Latzke admitted students in his studio and trained them in mural painting. In 2006 he was appointed Adj. Professor of mural painting at the Utah State University. In 2010 he was appointed Master for Fresco and Wall Decoration by the Beijing DeTao Masters Academy and invited to set up China´s first training studio for classic European mural painting at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. 2010 the prestigious Fudan University awarded him an Honorary Professorship. In his Spain Studio Rainer Maria Latzke regularly offers mural paintings workshops.
RESEARCH and Development
While teaching at the Utah State University Rainer Maria Latzke founded the Institute of Frescography, that is dedicated to the research on mural art and new mural production techniques. For his developments Latzke received several patents. In his research, he is working with leading art institutions and computer scientists.

The Fudan University, one of the leading universities in China awarded Rainer Maria Latzke 2010 an honorary professorship for his achievements in the classic mural. The picture shows the awarding of the certificate by Gong Xiu Ping, member of the Standing Committee of the People’s Republic of China and Honorary President of the Shanghai Insitute of Visual Arts of Fudan University. Latzke’ s works and developments are mentioned in numerous reference books, guidebooks and encyclopaedias. He also published a book about the designing of rooms with wall paintings, which also appeared in an English version.

Art Now and Then: Rainer Maria Latzke
Virtually all artists dream of their art making them rich and famous. Artists are good at dreaming, which may explain why they’re artists in the first place. Most have to be satisfied with creating illusions of their dreams in their chosen media–paint, print, film, pixels, etc. Most of us lack sufficient talent, daring, education, and drive to make our dreams anything more than imaginary images. In the article ‘The feet on the ground, the head in the clouds’ the Forbes magazine wrote about ‘creative people who set standards in firm belief in their visions and today make up the stories for tomorrow’. As one of the 12 most important cultural trendsetters the magazine chose Rainer Maria Latzke as representative of painting.
